Q: Why can't I get my files back?
A: There are a number of causes for unrecoverable files. The most common is that the area of your media that stored the file contents has been overwritten with a newer file. Success of advanced scan can be affected by file fragmentation. The file contents may be broken up to different areas on your media, sometimes some sections are overwritten or all the parts of the file cannot be found.
Q: How large can my files be?
A: There is no preset limit to the size of a file that you can recover. The maximum size may be limited to the available hard disk space for storing your recovered file or the amount of memory and size of windows swap files available on your computer.
Q: What things can I do to improve my chances of successful recovery?
A: If you think you have accidentally deleted files or that files have somehow "disappeared" from your media, the best thing you can do is stop any action that may write more data to your media as that increases the chances that your files could be overwritten. Keep your media in a safe place and use MediaRECOVER trying something else. There's a good chance your files will be recoverable.

Q: What is the difference between Wipe and Secure Delete?
A: Both functions destroy data. Wipe works on an entire drive and will blank out data in a single pass. Secure Delete operates on a file and will repeatedly overwrite the files with random data, analogous to scribbling over your pencil mark many times. All traces of the original mark are obscured by the overwriting process.
Q: Why would I want to Secure Delete a file?
A: Normally, you would like to Secure Delete files containing sensitive personal or company information. For example, if you use a USB drive to transfer confidential work files, you can make sure nothing is left behind by securely deleting the files off the USB drive.
